Anthony’s Story – Testimony of his Surrender to Jesus

Anthony-baptismWe recently had several baptisms from a series of gospel meetings done through the book of Revelation in April of 2016. Among those fully committed to Christ in baptism at the end of our meetings was a young man named Anthony. Coming from a church family background, he shares his story here below.

“Baptism. Baptism means: The act of giving your heart fully to Christ; forsaking all earthly ways and desires. Now, was I ready to take this major step in the Christian walk? From an early age I have wanted to be baptized. My motives? They weren’t quite clear. Maybe they were the fact that many of my friends were baptized. But I think I just didn’t understand the full meaning of baptism. Baptism meant that I would be forever changed, and I simply didn’t fully understand my beliefs. In the next few years I struggled in taking the step. But gradually things changed. Through many people who mentored me and a series of life-changing events, I started to think on the subject more. Finally though Ben’s meetings (April 2016), I learned more on the fundamentals of biblical faith and how to defend my faith, which in turn sealed my decision to give my life to Christ. I was baptized on that joyous day: June 18,2016. Even though this journey is far from being over, I continue to strive to stay close to Him in perseverance and courage for this race*. (*Hebrews 12:1-3)”

Sincerely in Christ,

Anthony Jones
