Many Called, Few Chosen (True HR Management)

Recently, while studying in a business leadership course on Human Resource Management, I came across a prompt to share a worship thought, dealing with the subject. A helpful insight and devotional thought came to mind on some of the words of Jesus, which fit the setting in which he shared them. Being pleased with the resulting insight and devotion from the words of Jesus, I felt I should share them here to extend the lesson to more. God bless you in the ways of His truth!

Jesus said, “Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 20:16). Continue reading

God’s Stance, Leading, and Help in this sin-sick, suffering World

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:12-13)

Evil happens too much in our world and, unfortunately, it will happen more too. This, we are promised in God’s word. These are all signs of a planet in rebellion to the will and love of God. For the time, God permits much because we must learn to understand the Continue reading

Sabbath love-making: Is it biblical?

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (9) Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: (10)  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: (11) For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” – Exodus 20:8-11

The age old question for Sabbath-keepers arises – what is appropriate for the Sabbath day and what is not? Many have tossed ideas around concerning various activities from swimming to getting wet to walking a number of steps, etc. One of the questions people wonder about is love-making between spouses upon the Sabbath day. If the Church was a Business

“And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” – Jesus (Luke 2:49).

Jesus was all about His Father’s business or work! He ate, slept, and breathed His father’s work. He was constantly in prayer about it (Matthew 6:10). He came “to seek and to save” the lost and to “give his life a ransom for many” (Luke 19:10; Matthew 20:28). He said that those who followed him would be made into “fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19), and that we should pray for the Father to “send forth laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:38; Luke 10:2). Wise unto God, Fools to the World

“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise” (1 Corinthians 3:18).

The Bible asserts that “the wisdom of the world is foolishness with God” (1 Corinthians 3:19). He knows their thoughts, “that they are vain” (v.20). The thinking and prized things of the world are quite different from God’s. Jesus even said “that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God,” simply because that which is so often prized by people of the world is completely the opposite from what God prizes, values, and promotes (See Luke 16:15).
