Gracious Lord Child Care Orphanage (2012-2017 Update)

Gracious Lord ChildrenAnother orphanage in Kenya, run by a very sincere young Kenyan Seventh-day Adventist Christian, and lay-Evangelist named Jeremiah Otemo, is the Gracious Lord Child Care center. This orphanage is located in Kisumu, Kenya. That is on the west side of Kenya along the sea. This orphanage, run by Jeremiah and his wife, in 2012 was a little further along in their development process than Kisii Kids (at the time, though smaller in size). Of course they still have various needs from time to time for different improvement projects. The owner of this orphanage, Jeremiah, is also friends’ with Stevenson K. Maranga, the owner/operator of the Kisii Kids’ Orphanage (in Kisii, Kenya).

The philosophy of the Gracious Lord Child Care Orphanage is basically the same as is the Kisii Kids’ Orphanage. That is, to train up these young people to become successful and productive Christian individuals and missionaries for God! The young people are taught practical skills for living and being useful in this life, while especially being given a very solid Christian experience and education from those leading out at the orphanage. They work hard to be self-sustaining, and keep a smaller child base (smaller number of children) to be able to care for them more effectively.

The children have daily worship times and are thoroughly taught of God and His word! They are educated not only of Christ, but of Christ’s mission and our duty to serve Him faithfully throughout our whole lives!

When I was visiting brother Stevenson Maranga and the Kisii Kids’ Orphanage back in March of 2012 I had the chance to personally meet brother Jeremiah Otemo, and to do some Evangelistic work with him. He’s a very spiritually minded and mission driven young man, who is serving Christ! I pray the Lord will bless his mission efforts in Kenya and the surrounding countries in Africa (which he also works in at times).

They could use our prayers, interest, and financial support as well. Perhaps think and pray about what you can do to be of help to them in their mission. Get to know about their case, and that of others, as was the example of Job (see Job 29:15,16). Then see what can be done to help in such a mission. You may contact Clear Call Ministries if you have any questions, or make a donation especially for these orphanages (marked clearly for which cause) by use of our secure Paypal donation site. Or you can contact Jeremiah Otemo directly through his facebook page (Or Stevenson K. Maranga for the Kisii Kids’ Orphanage), and arrange to send them aid/donations directly.

The latest update I have on Jeremiah’s Orphanage is the following from Jeremiah on Feb. 22, 2017. They are still very hard at work there for these children! If you can help them in some way, please do so by reviewing their Facebook page, contacting Jeremiah, praying, and sending funds as you feel impressed to help them out.

Feb. 22, 2017 Update from Jeremiah Otemo:

Thank you so much for your concern. We are very active brother – more than before. Only that I am silent due to the heavy workload on my shoulders and my wife. We are too busy nowadays working to run the orphanage after the funds went down brother. I decided to do some business of transportation and make some income for the work. My wife is working on making and selling clothes in open markets. We have 20 plus children brother to be taken care of without stable monthly funding! You can try to imagine such a heavy work in native Africa!

As you can see, they are working very hard to serve the Lord and these children. As stated above, I’ve met with Jeremiah and spoken to him throughout the years. I consider him a very hard worker for the Lord, very sincere in the faith, and his cause is truly a worthy one.

That’s all for now!

Blessings in Christ,

Benjamin Burkhardt
